The Ven. Michael L. Ward

The Ven. Michael L. Ward, ssa (Fr. Mike) is the Rector of St Mark’s Church, and has been since 1999. Before becoming our first “full-time” Rector in December of 2010, Fr. Mike was a also a partner in the Certified Public Accounting firm of Curtis, Ward & Associate, P.A. devoting his time to both his profession and our parish. After 26½ years in public accounting, Fr. Mike finally left his practice to devote all his time to St Mark’s.

Fr. Mike is a graduate of the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, and has served on many boards and committees of the diocese, as well as many boards and committees in our community, having lived in Vero Beach since 1965. Among other things, he is currently on the Board of Examining Chaplains for the diocese, assisting in the formation of our future clergy, President of the Standing Committee of the diocese, and was a founding member of the Society of St Anthony (Anglican). In July of 2011, at the 43rd annual Synod of the Diocese of the Eastern U.S., the Most Rev. Walter H. Grundorf appointed Fr. Mike a Canon of the Cathedral, and in July of 2021 he was appointed one of two Archdeacons of the diocese by the Most Rev. Chandler H. Jones.

Fr. Mike is married, and he and his wife, Sheila, have one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth.
