Rev. Canon Michael L. Ward
Rev. Canon Michael L. Ward, ssa (Fr. Mike) is the Rector of St Mark’s Church, and has been since 1999. Before becoming our first “full-time” Rector in December of 2010, Fr. Mike was a also a partner in the Certified Public Accounting firm of Curtis, Ward & Associate, P.A. devoting his time to both his profession and our parish. After 26½ years in public accounting, Fr. Mike finally left his practice to devote all his time to St Mark’s.
Fr. Mike is a graduate of the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, and has served on many boards and committees of the diocese, as well as many boards and committees in our community, having lived in Vero Beach since 1965. Among other things, he is currently the chairman of the Board of Examining Chaplains for the diocese, assisting in the formation of our future clergy, and is also a founding member of the Society of St Anthony (Anglican), a Franciscan society dedicated to both theological reflection and service to those “on the fringe” in our community. Fr. Mike was also appointed a Canon of the Cathedral by the Most Rev. Walter H. Grundorf at the 43rd annual Synod of the Diocese of the Eastern U.S., held in Dunwoody, Georgia in July of 2011.
Fr. Mike is married, and he and his wife, Sheila, have one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth.
Rev. Fr. Randall S. Russell
Rev. Fr. Randall S. Russell is the Curate of St. Mark’s Anglican Church. He was ordained a deacon at St. Alban’s Cathedral in Oviedo, Florida on August 8, 2015 and priest on June 18, 2016 here at St. Mark's. Fr. Russell is a graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana and before becoming Anglican and moving to Vero Beach had served churches in Iowa, Michigan, and New York as a Lutheran minister. While in New York Fr. Russell also served as a religion teacher and the head of Christian education at a parochial school. He and his wife Amy have two children, a son (James) and a daughter (Ella).
